Haileybury Comets

The Haileybury Comets, a.k.a. the Haileybury Hockey Club, are the most successful ice hockey franchise ever. Rarely known is that in 1910, the Haileybury Comets franchise was transferred to George Kennedy, who renamed the franchise the Club Athlétique Canadien and later renamed it again to Club de Hockey Canadien.

Before playing in the inaugural NHA season, the Comets played in the Temiskaming Professional Hockey League and returned to the TPHL after their single season in the NHA. Later the team played in the Temiskaming Senior League. The franchise was owned by Ambrose O’Brien.
