The Transfer
In 1910,
George Kennedy threatened to sue
Ambrose O'Brien over his use of the Canadiens name. On November 12 of that year, Kennedy paid O'Brien $7,500 for the contracts of the
Les Canadiens players and transferred the Haileybury
NHA franchise to Kennedy.
